Take a city tour of Bishkek, which sits in the Tien Shan mountain range in the Chui Valley. It is an interesting example of a czarist planned city; laid on a grid with wide boulevards flanked by irrigation canals and large trees, buildings with marble façades, and Soviet apartment complexes. Visit :
Victory square which is dedicated to the victory over Nazi Germany.
Oak Park, which is one of the oldest parks in the city. The first trees were planted by Alexei Fetisov in 1890, a botanist from Russia.
The Ala-Too Square which was built in 1984 to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The State History Museum, formerly known as the Lenin Museum. Here you can view exhibits such as samples of rock paintings, a number of ancient coins, items from the Bronze Age, jewelry from nomads dating from the 1st century. The museum has an extensive collection of ethnographic objects as well.
Walkthrough a number of kiosks selling hundreds of varieties of things at the Asian Bazaar. Maybe you can buy something that catches your eye.
Get a real taste of Kyrgyz cuisine as we go for lunch in a typical local restaurant.
Drive to Chamsy Valley to reach the campsite from where we will start our trek.
We will spend our first night in a yurt campsite, just the way the nomads do during the summers along the Chamsy river.
After breakfast start the 5-hour trek with the goal of camping at the feet of Chamsy Gorge ( 2980m ).
We establish camp at the feet of Chamsy gorge subsequently.
After the canyon ends, we will see flat plain land with a dry path leading to the beautiful Kochkor valley.
Our buses will be waiting to take us to Kyzart village.
Start the trek to the Tuz Achou gorge ( 3230 m) and the north bank of Song Kul Lake ( 3010m ).
Although It is a 30 minutes walk to the south bank the gain in altitude is astounding !! The incline is up to the mountains till Tuz Achou. From here we catch a glimpse of the beautiful lake amid the lush green surroundings below. The magnificent view keeps the going easy as we descent down to the lake to our campsite where we spend the night in a yurt.
Stop at the Kochkor village where a local family will show us how the national felt carpets are made.
Visit the Burana Tower which is a large minaret in the Chuy Valley. The tower, along with grave markers, mausoleums, and the remnants of a castle is all that remains of the ancient city of Balasagun, which was established by the Karakhanids at the end of the 9th century.
Enjoy the open-air museum of Balban, where warriors made out of stone are exhibited.
